Craig S. Rosala is a full-time instructor in the floorlayers program at the Northeast Ohio Carpenters’ Joint Apprenticeship and Training Center. A union member since 1971, Rosala brings more than three decades of experience to the classroom. As a floorlayer, he has worked with carpet, ceramic, wood and wood laminates, VCT, linoleum, and vinyl flash cove installation for residential and commercial clients. He also has extensive experience managing worksites—which ranged from theaters to hospitals—for the top union contractors in the region. As a site foreman, Rosala shared his knowledge and experience with apprentices and journeymen through on-the-job training. Rosala has earned professional installation certifications from leading flooring manufacturers such as Congoleum, Armstrong and Mannington and has completed instructor’s training at the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners International Training Center in Las Vegas.

Raymond C. Laraby is the full-time coordinator for INSTALL Ohio. In that role, he acts as a liaison with professional organizations — such as contractor, design, manufacturer and architect associations — and works with INSTALL instructors and curriculum developers to make sure both apprentice and journeymen continuing education classes meet industry standards and client needs. The Business Representative for the Ohio & Vicinity Regional Council of Carpenters Local 248, Laraby brings more than 20 years of floorcovering experience to the table. He has managed a wide range of successful projects, including jobs in schools, major retail chain stores, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and residential projects. As a floorcoverer, he has installed carpet, wood, vinyl, vinyl composition tile, flash cove vinyl, and wood laminates.

Frank Bucci has three decades of experience in floorcovering. Skilled and experienced in all facets of the floorcovering craft, Bucci has special knowledge of flash coving sheet goods materials. He also is experienced in the installation of vinyl composition tile, rubber flooring products, access flooring, carpet, wood, cove base and linoleum. Bucci served as a foreman on major projects such as the Cleveland Clinic, Thistledown race track, Akron Children’s Hospital, and Lorain Correctional Institution. Bucci has shared his expertise with other INSTALL Ohio craftsmen as an instructor for flash coving classes at the Northeast Ohio Carpenters’ Joint Apprenticeship and Training Center in Richfield. Bucci currently serves as the vice president of interior systems for Local 509, an organizer and business agent for the Ohio and Vicinity Regional Council of Carpenters and as the marketing coordinator for the northeast area in the INSTALL Ohio program.

Paul Tepfenhart has chalked up 25 years as a union floorcoverer. He has earned industry certification from many of the leading manufacturers and has worked on residential, retail, commercial and industrial projects. Tepfenhart has worked with all types of flooring materials and is especially experienced in tackless carpet installation. A member of Local 509, he was recently elected as that local’s president and is currently a business agent-organizer within his council.

Jeff Moore has more than 25 years of experience in the floor covering industry. A member of Local 248, he is now a full-time instructor for INSTALL Ohio, teaching both apprentice and journeymen upgrade classes. As a teacher, Moore draws on decades of experience in installing carpet, hardwood, ceramic and resilient flooring. Moore also has worked on specialty projects such as decorative design insets and flash coving vinyl and linoleum and has worked on and supervised school, hospital, commercial, industrial and residential projects. Moore served on the INSTALL curriculum development committee and is qualified to certify members as INSTALL professionals. He holds numerous professional certifications, including Armstrong commercial, residential and laminates; Forbo: Master Mechanic; Shaw carpet; NWFA hardwood installation, factory finish installation and sand & finish; OSHA 500; Kool Glide seam iron; Hilti powder actuated tool; and Ardex toppings and underlayments.
